There is a lot of air pollution in Los Angeles. Around 2009, the American Lung Association published a report citing that LA was one of the worst ozone polluted region in the country.

However, compared to 10 years ago, the air pollution in LA has been improving. Ten years ago the ozone weight in the air in LA measured 189.5 parts per million, but 10 years later the ozone weight in the air dropped to 138.8 parts per million.
