In 2004, 13.8 hectares of land was used for biofuels. This is slated to drastically increase. This is troubling to some, who maintain that we need to use the land to feed people, not produce fuel. Depending on the model you choose, up to 58.5 hectares of land could be used for biofuels by 2030.
