The program at MIT focused on Carbon Capture and Sequestration is centered on capturing carbon dioxide at its source and storing it in non-atmospheric reservoirs. Typical sourced are power plants and CO2-producing industrial processes for storage in appropriate oil and gas reservoirs, coal seams or deep saline or ocean formations.
