How is mechanical energy formed?

mechanical energy is formed using a source of energy, and being transferred to motion or electricity by means of gears. a good example of this is a cars engine. the gasoline goes into the piston chamber, is ignited and expands as gases. the gases are released as exhaust but the expansion turns the piston, which in turn spins the wheels on the car. this force moves the car forward or back, depending on the gear it is in. generally mechanical energy uses a controlled explosion or burning or some sort to generate the mechanical energy. mechanical energy also can create electricity, for example water rushing through a generator spins the turbine which moves magnets around a metal coil or vice versa, which generates electricity that is distributed to customers as usable electricity.
