How is Marine life effected by unexpected cold weather?

They are most often negatively affected. Their bodies have not necessarily evolved to deal with sudden cold spells and therefore many of them become stressed, disoriented, ill, and even die. In Florida, many turtles have been rescued who have all been suffering from “cold shock” and scientists are seeing less and less eggs on shore. Thousands of fish and even a manatee were reported dead because of dramatic temperature changes and they expect that they will find more if the cold spell continues.
