The US Clean Air Act was put into place September 14th 1970, and celebrated it’s 40 year anniversary last year.
The U.S. Clean Air Act was actually first passed by Congress in 1963. But major revisions were made in 1970 and this is where most of the laws we find today were made. It was also revised again in 1977 and 1990. Legislation passed since then has made several minor changes.
