How many years of evolution did it take lizards to lose their limbs?

    Some Australian skinks have lost their limbs in only 3.6 million years, which is just a blip in geologic time. According to Australian researcher Adam Skinner, about 53 types of snakes and lizards have lost one or more of the bones in their limbs throughout evolutionary time.
