There may not be a discrete answer to this question due to the variability of landfill size and location. Although landfills are designed to use as little area as possible, they do not appear to have a “standard size” – a larger landfill would take more time to fill up than a smaller one. Furthermore, a landfill near a sparsely populated location would logically take more time to fill up than a landfill near a more populous zone.
