    Domestically raised cows can live for up to 20 to 25 years if they are not raised for beef or dairy production.  However if cows are raised for beef production, they are weened, spend time on the range, fed on a feedlot (usually with corn products), and then slaughtered all within a period of 15 to 20 months.
