Though it depends on the size of the wind turbine and the quality of construction, in general wind turbines need frequent maintenance to keep functioning properly, and have an average lifespan of 20 years. Damage from birds, insects and normal wear and tear can effect this number, but if the turbine is properly maintained it can last for the predicted lifespan and longer.
