How many volts can an electric eel generate?

It seems as though the longer they get the more voltage they can create. Which would make sense because they create their voltage by using a large number of electric disks located in their tail. As they get bigger they have longer tails which means more electricity. The eels produce anywhere from 100V to 600V depending on how large they are.
