Logging companies actually cut down more trees than they do plant, and the process is hard to overlook, considering deforestation accounts for a great deal of carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to global warming. Despite that fact, logging companies do pay a special fee to fund for their destruction of forests. In one year, over 2.3 billion seedlings were planted in the United States, and nearly 55% of those were planted by forest products industries and private timberland companies.
