While no cases have been confirmed as being related to polluted groundwater, pollution has been suspected in clusters of leukemia patients in Maryvale, Arizona; Fallon, Nevada; Woburn, Massachusettes; as well as cities in Germany and Puerto Rico.
Many viruses, including hepatitus, can be transmitted from groundwater as well.
