Most newer hybrid batteries are intended to last the life of the car (estimated about 200,000 miles for a Prius). While some of the earlier generation batteries had worries of dying after only 5 years or so, the batteries have had some great improvements made to them and are also now much cheaper. The current Prius has a battery warranty of 8 years or 100,000 miles although many have proven they can and will last much longer (some testimonials saying they have had the same battery for 300,000 plus miles!). The exact number of charges is not known, but a newer generation hybrid battery should last the life of your car.
