There are estimated to be only 400 to 500 Sumatran Tigers left on the planet. Experts think they will soon be extinct, just like other tigers (Javan and Balinese) who are now extinct in Indonesia. The causes of its disappearance are deforestation ( the tiger loses its home) and poaching. However, in 2008, thanks to activists’ support and hard work, the tiger’s habitat Tesso Nilo National Park in Indonesia was doubled in size.
