On average, Americans eat about 3.4 pounds of fresh strawberries each year, in addition to another 1.8 pounds frozen. Strawberries are beneficial to human health, as they increase oxygen and blood flow to the muscles. Interestingly, strawberries are actually a member of the rose family and have an average of 200 seeds per piece of fruit.
