How many species of trees live in the rainforest?

    According to this Web site, for every 24.7 acres, there are over 750  types of trees in the rainforest.

    According to the article, there are about 100-300 species of tree in one 2 1/2 acre in South America.

    Hard to throw down an exact number, but there are a lot! An average from several article’s I’ve read would be around 175 different trees per square mile.
