How many species of gorillas are there? Are they endangered?

There are two species of gorillas: Eastern and Western. More specifically, there are either four or five (this is a debate among scientists) subspecies of gorilla: the Mountain gorilla, the Eastern lowlands, the Western lowlands, the Cross River, and the Bwindi Forest gorilla, which is often considered part of the Mountain gorilla population by some, and it’s own by others. All gorillas are endangered.
