How many species do most wetlands support?

In the US it’s estimated that wetlands support roughly 150 species of birds and more than 200 species of fish. Mammals like muskrat, beaver, raccoon, and white-tailed deer use wetlands; and a large variety of reptiles, turtles, and freshwater fish also depend on wetlands for survival. It’s hard to give an exact number on how many species a wetland will support. Some species depend on the wetlands throughout their entire existence, some only depend on it for a portion.
