How many solar car races happen every year in America?

The two huge annual solar race cars are the the American Solar Challenge (ASC) and the Formula Sun Grand Prix (FSGP).

The ASC is lengthy; it starts in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and ends in Naperville, Illinois. The whole ASC race lasts about a week.

The FSGP is not a cross-country event, but is hosted in one location where teams from all over the nation travel to to compete. The 2010 FSGP was hosted in Cresson, Texas.
