In 1990 the Clean Air Act identified 188 chemicals as “hazardous air pollutants,” and this list has since been modified. The list includes things like arsenic, asbestos, chlorine, lead and mercury, as well as many less familiar chemicals. You can see a list of these at the link shown below.
