From what I have read, there seems to be five types of spiders that are poisonous and are found here in the U.S.: the black widow, the common sac, the brown recluse, the tarantula, and the hobo. However, only bites from the black widow and brown recluse have lead to death in rare cases.
There are very few poisonous spiders foound in the United States as compared to other countries. The website I have attached lists, by state, venomous spiders found there. It seems that the black widow, those from the recluse family (including the brown, desert, baja, martha’s, etc.), and hobo are most commonly found.
Mouse spiders can also be potentially dangerous as well and can be found in the United States. A bite from a mouse spider can cause severe illness, especially in younger children.
