    Russia has a population density of 22 people per square mile.  It is the largest country in the world, covering 6.5 million square miles.  Most of the country’s population lives in urban areas.

    As of July 2010 there are an estimated 139,390,205 people in Russia spread over 6.5 million miles, as stated above. The first link is a population map of Russia. It shows that a majority of population lives in the European part of the country.
