According to The Science Daily, about 40% of of the world’s death is from air, water and soil pollution. However, for air pollution specifically, the World Health Organization (WHO) has recently reported that the number of deaths from indoor and outdoor air pollution has risen from 1.15 million people in 2004 to more than 2 million in 2010. A key fact reported from WHO also states that nearly 2 million people die prematurely from indoor pollution versus outdoor pollution. Looking at this further, in the US about 3% of the total deaths every year is from air pollution.
