How many people died from DDT before we banned it?

There are no documented deaths as a result of DDT exposure.  Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane, or DDT was banned in the US in 1972.  It is a pesticide that is still used in 11 countries.  In the 1960’s a book was written exposing possible cancer and environmental risks of DDT.  Although DDT is thought to cause health problems there has been no known case in which the pesticide directly caused a fatality.
