    Today, 925 million people in the world today are hungry, and hunger and food shortages cause more deaths each year than AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined.  This year (so far), close to 8.8 million people have died of hunger.     According to, world agriculture produces enough food for each and every person to consume 2,720 kilocalories (kcal) per day. Some of the main causes that people are not able to access food are poverty, harmful economic systems, and regional conflict.
