According to this article, about 72,000 people are born per day in India. However, less than 57% of births are registered and less than 52% of deaths are registered, so this number could be different. A lot of this has to do with the gender bias, and people don’t want to register the birth of females in the country.
My source indicates “one baby born in India: every 1.25 seconds.”
That means several babies have been born since I found this post and responded! Talk about overpopulation and crowding. I am curious as to how the country will address that issue.
