A survey from the Rodale Institute did a survey about people buying organic foods. 53% of people who took the survey said they shopped organically. It has been a popular notion that only the more upper scale Americans could afford organic food, since it use to be so much pricier. However, as more organic foods become available at a lower price, they have become a much more common household product.
