Assuming you mean bones, 26. Depending on how you count the fused bones in the sacrum and coccyx, you might say 33. Or if you don’t count the sacrum and coccyx, you might say 24.

The different parts of the spine, or vertebral column, are:

    *Cervical vertebrae (7 bones)

    *Thoracic vertebrae (12 bones)

    *Lumbar vertebrae (5 bones)

    *Sacrum (5 fused bones)

    *Coccyx (4 bones, often fused)

The ribs connect to the thoracic vertebrae, the spinal cord runs through vertebral canal, discs separate the vertebrae, and muscles and ligaments are connected to the bones.
