How many nonrecyclable plastic cups are thrown away annually?

    The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports approximately 29 million tons of nonbiodegradable plastic waste ends up in our landfills each year.  Because only certain kinds of plastic is reusable, only a fraction of all plastic disposed of made is actually recycled.  This has become a growing problem and various green technology companies are finding ways to utilize the plastic waste and turning into energy.  The Polymer Energy leads the industry in this new niche developing in the market today.
