how many muscles does it take to frown?

Each adage about smiling and frowning you come across gives you a different number of muscles for each action. However, I found a scientist who believes he knows that answers. He is not completely positive simply because it is hard to isolate which facial muscles are involved in each movement. It supposedly takes about 11 muscles to from and about 12 muscles to smile, which shows that the adage “it takes more muscles to smile than frown” is an urban legend.
