How many mosquitoes are there in Africa?

Billions, at least. A female mosquito can lay up to 300 eggs. Just one female lays that many eggs, and there’s a good chance that half of those eggs are females, if not more. Since they have been on the planet for roughly 210 million years (some scientists place mosquitoes back to the jurassic period), mosquitoes pretty much have their ways of life set. They live for about 2 months. If you’re planning on traveling through Africa, buy a mosquito net and invest in some serious bug spray, as well as your malaria shots.
