As of 1996, there were 79 species of mollusks listed as endangered. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a more updated list.
There are many species of endangered mollusks all over the world today. One example of an endangered species of mollusk is the clubshell mollusk. Habitat destruction and degraded water quality has cause the population of this mollusk to great decline. The reasoning for the dwindling numbers can also be applied to numerous other species such as the crackling pearly mussel and the pink mucket pearly mussel
