How many lobes does a koala lung have?

How is their system alike or different from that of humans?

A koala has lungs that are divided into 4 lobes. This structure of the lungs is strikingly similar to the kangaroo’s lungs.

There is actually some disagreement in the field about the number of lobes in a koala’s lung.  I found two reports here stating that they either have 5 lobes (three on the right, two on the left) or two lobes for each lung.  In the report about the 5 different lobes, it is reported that the lower lobes of each side are approximately equivalent sizes, but only half the size of the upper lobe(s).
