How many lions are there in Africa?

    20 years ago, there were about 200,000 lions in Africa. Today, there are 30,000. The numbers are rapidly declining.

    Their number of lions in Africa has gone from 100,000, in the early 1990s, to no more than 30,000, and as few as 12,000. In the past 20 years, Africa has seen a 90% drop in lion population.
