How many lights are typically on and for how long in a typical home?

    Who knows? The variables are so many, and so varied, that it is unreasonable to expect a definitive answer to this question.

      Thanks for comment rigibson. I’m looking for an average or ballpark. For example even though the height of a male in the US may range from under 3′ to over 7′, the average is about 5′-10″. This is the data I am trying to find, and somebody somewhere may have done some research in this area….

    According to the US Energy Information Administration, the typical US household used 10,896 kWh annually, “an average of 908 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per month.” This does include other electric appliances (washer, microwave, electronics, etc.), but hopefully this will give you a ball park.
