Colobinae, or “leaf-eating” monkeys, are made up of many distinct genera.  Two of these, the Colobus and Piliocolobus, are both native to Africa.  These are subdivided into specific species, numbering approximately 14 amongst the two genera.  Colobus monkeys are highly endangered and are very much threatened by global warming; therefore, it is hard to find an exact population number since they are so threatened.
