There are over 100 languages spoken in the Americas including English, Spanish, and Porteguese. Many indigeous tribes found in Latin American, such as the Kuna in Panama, speak their own language. Also, within each language, there are many dialects and accents, some of which may not be understood very well by others that speak the “same” language. For example, some people in the Carribean speak variations of English that are very difficult for people from the United States to understand.
