Female tigers usually have litters of 2 to 6 cubs. They are typically raised without the aid of the male tiger. Cubs cannot hunt until they are about 18 months old. Once they learn to hunt and fend for themselves, they usually leave their mother to find their own territory when they are between two and three years old.
Tigers have a litter of 2-3 cubs, but can be as big as 7! The pregnancy lasts about 103 days. Cubs are about 2.2 pounds when they are born. They stay with their mother until they are two years old. By this time, they have learned how to hunt, and are capable of living on their own.
