One study showed that less than 2 percent of children ride their bikes to school in America.
This is a difficult number to ascertain. However, it is known that the number of children in the U.S. and in Australia (see link below) who ride to school has decreased significantly. This is due to the convenience of getting a ride to school from parents (meanwhile, the waistlines of Americans, Mexicans, and Greeks (amongst others) are growing). It is important that we stop this unhealthy trend. Kids who bike to school today will bike to work tomorrow (and be healthier for it, to boot!).
