I’m not absolutely positive about the number of jobs lost to outsourcing in the past 10 years. Of course, any figure I can find would be an estimate. However, an article from the Seattle Pi sheds some light on the situation. It estimated that up until 2003 approximately 400,000 US jobs had been shipped overseas. The article also estimates that the overall total would hit 3.3 million by 2015. This averages out to about 200,000 jobs each year… so if you are looking for the total over a decade you could esimate it would be 2 million. The article also suggests that in the large scheme of jobs, those lost to outsourcing represent a very small portion of the jobs in America.
