January didn’t see the mad rush that February did to help save unemployment benefits. According to an article from the Journal Sentinel, 1.2 million jobless Americans would see unemployment insurance benefits end in February if congress didn’t extend them. One Republican senator, Sen. Bunning (R-Ky), held up the vote until the last minute. Luckily, the bill measure passed and those benefits were not stopped.
