It is tough to say exactly how many homes would be underwater if shorelines were to rise. However, to get an idea, we can consider how much sea levels could rise and which world cities would be submerged and with how much water. Venice, a city that is unfortunately already sinking, would be in serious trouble with just a 1 meter rise in sea level. Los Angeles and Amsterdam would struggle with a 2 meter rise. These rising sea levels could plausibly occur within the next 80 years, so the devastation to cities and the homes in those cities is a serious concern.
