It’s hard to find an exact number, and most estimates for US jobs created are below what was expected. About two million jobs were created or retained. However, the creation of these jobs, though below predictions, is guiding us out of the recession, and the outlook for 2010 is much more optimistic, with an expected 1.1 million more new jobs (green included).
The stimulus created thousands of green jobs. Problem is, most of them are overseas. A report conducted by ABC News and the Investigative Reporting Workshop reports that of the money spent so far, eight of every ten dollars went to foreign compamies. Also, funding for wind projects created 6,000 manufacturing jobs overseas but only hundreds here.
