There are a large number of gasses (I counted 18 on the EPA’s site) that exhibit “greenhouse” tendencies in that they trap heat in the Earth’s atmosphere. The most prevalent gasses that humans need to be concerned with because we have contributed to their increase in the atmosphere are: carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and the fluorinated gasses.
