The India Green Building Council has certified 134 completed buildings as “green buildings” in India. The Council defines them as such: “A green building is one which uses less water, optimises energy efficiency, conserves natural resources, generates less waste and provides healthier spaces for occupants, as compared to a conventional building.” There are also 837 registered buildings, which are projects in the works that adhere to the council’s regulations.
