The total population of Giraffes left in Africa range from 110,000 to 150,000, more recent estimates place the Giraffe population at less than 80,000. The giraffe population is known to be decreasing as a result of habitat loss and other factors such as poaching. They are predominantly found in areas dominated by acacia woodlands and shrub lands.
