In the U.S., the average household uses about 70 gallons (69.3 to be exact) of water each day (that’s almost 30,000 gallons each year!).
About a quarter of that use comes from toilets and another fifth from clothes washers.
The average family of four people can use up to 400 gallons daily. 27% of this comes from the toliet which can use up to 7 gallons per flush. The bathroom faucet uses 2 gallons per minute. Upgrading to newer, high efficency models can significantally decrease this.
