Up to 525,600 gallons a year! “The best way to determine where the leak is coming from is manually turning off the valve supplying water to the toilet and drying every area around the unit, then turning the shut off valve back on, this should enable you to visually see where the condensation and leak is coming from.” You must regularly maintain your throne!
Without suggesting that wasting water is a good thing, 525,600 gallons per year is almost literally a drop in the bucket of consumption. The US uses 345 billion gallons of fresh water per DAY, or 125 trillion gallons per year. That leakage figure is an incredibly small percentage of the total — less than one millionth of one percent.
