how many gallons of oil does recycling one plastic plate save

Difficult to find the exact number printed on a website somewhere but bear with me as I do the math:

Recycling 1 ton of plastic saves 16.3 barrels or 685 gallons of oil

1 ton is equal is 2000 lbs.

1 plastic plate is (roughly) 339.75 grams (3/4 of a lb.)

    339.75 grams is 16.98% of 2000 lbs.

    16.98% of 685 gallons is 116.36 gallons

SO, if all my math is correct, recycling 1 339.75 gram plastic plate saves about 116.36 gallons of oil!
